A photographic book presenting common plant species found in Britain, highlighting their origin and the impact of colonialism on our environment. A play on “On the Origin of Species” by Charles Darwin, this project presents humanities redistribution of natural evolution. Focusing on the idea that the natural world within Britain is not actually "natural" due to the man-made distribution of non-native plants, this work presents high quality scans of well known plants that reside within "natural" British landscapes. Alongside each is text stating its native continent, playing on the idea that the origin of British Species, is in fact not Britain.
